I used to think that every paragraph of words needs to be matched with a photograph. It doesn’t. In some ways, words are better on their own. You may have noticed that none of my blog posts of 2019 have had photographs in them yet. No special featured image, just all plain. But not boring, words create images and structure creates imagination of the situation.
Look at the words. No photograph can match it.

Couldn’t agree more, visual images have a place. However, some blogs are so over crowded with photos, plus gloggged up with visual adds. I just cannot bebother reading them,sadly, because I am sure some would have good content too!

Good point. I am afraid I am guilty of feeling I *must* put in some images – sometimes they have clear relevance, but not always. And the time spent searching them out could be better spent on the writing.

I think the phrase, “A picture can speak a thousand words” can also be reversed as, “A word can display a thousand visuals and pictures.” I agree with you, as words can be very expressive.
